The dog remains the legal responsibility and ownership of Moon & Meadow Rescue during
the foster period. The Foster may not register, rehome, transfer, or otherwise claim
ownership of the dog, and may not place the dog with another person without written
approval from the Rescue.
The Foster agress to:
1. Provide safe, appropriate daily care including feeding, exercise, supervision, and a stable home environment.
2. Follow the Rescue’s guidance on decompression, introductions, training, and routine.
3. Inform the Rescue as soon as possible about any illness, injury, behavioural concerns, escapes, accidents, or incidents involving the dog.
4. Transport the dog to veterinary appointments as needed, or coordinate transport with the Rescue if the Foster cannot.
5. Keep the dog indoors as a household pet and ensure the dog is not used for
breeding.
The Rescue covers veterinary costs during the foster period. The Foster agrees not to book
non urgent vet treatment without approval. In an emergency, the Foster may seek immediate
veterinary care, but must contact the Rescue as soon as possible.
The Foster is responsible for the dog’s supervision and agrees to take reasonable
precautions for safety. The Foster accepts responsibility for any damage caused by the dog
while in their care. The Rescue is not liable for incidents occurring during the foster period
except in cases of intentional misrepresentation of information known at the time of
placement.
The Rescue may end this foster placement if it is in the best interest of the dog or if the
Foster is unable to meet the responsibilities in this agreement. If the Foster needs to end the
foster early, the Foster agrees to provide notice as soon as possible so the Rescue can
arrange a safe alternative placement. The dog must be returned to the Rescue or to a
placement approved by the Rescue.
