Dog Details

Step 1 of 8

The dog remains the legal responsibility and ownership of Moon & Meadow Rescue during the foster period. The Foster may not register, rehome, transfer, or otherwise claim ownership of the dog, and may not place the dog with another person without written approval from the Rescue.

The Foster agress to:
1. Provide safe, appropriate daily care including feeding, exercise, supervision, and a stable home environment.
2. Follow the Rescue’s guidance on decompression, introductions, training, and routine.
3. Inform the Rescue as soon as possible about any illness, injury, behavioural concerns, escapes, accidents, or incidents involving the dog.
4. Transport the dog to veterinary appointments as needed, or coordinate transport with the Rescue if the Foster cannot.
5. Keep the dog indoors as a household pet and ensure the dog is not used for breeding.

The Rescue covers veterinary costs during the foster period. The Foster agrees not to book non urgent vet treatment without approval. In an emergency, the Foster may seek immediate veterinary care, but must contact the Rescue as soon as possible.

The Foster is responsible for the dog’s supervision and agrees to take reasonable precautions for safety. The Foster accepts responsibility for any damage caused by the dog while in their care. The Rescue is not liable for incidents occurring during the foster period except in cases of intentional misrepresentation of information known at the time of placement.

The Rescue may end this foster placement if it is in the best interest of the dog or if the Foster is unable to meet the responsibilities in this agreement. If the Foster needs to end the foster early, the Foster agrees to provide notice as soon as possible so the Rescue can arrange a safe alternative placement. The dog must be returned to the Rescue or to a placement approved by the Rescue.
